Tourism Development Tax Updates
Phil Diamond will provide a clear update on the current status of the Tourism Development Tax (TDT) funds. These funds play a crucial role in supporting local tourism initiatives and infrastructure projects that benefit residents and visitors alike.
How TDT Funds Are Being Used
Infrastructure improvements such as park enhancements and public facility upgrades.
Marketing campaigns to attract visitors and boost the local economy.
Support for cultural and community events that enrich Orange County’s appeal.
Understanding how these funds are allocated helps residents see the direct impact of tourism on the community’s growth and quality of life.
Audits of Interest to County Watch
The meeting will also cover recent audits conducted by the Comptroller’s office. These audits ensure transparency and accountability in county operations.
Key Audits to Watch
In-house audits focusing on departments with significant budget activity or recent concerns.
The CFO/FAFO’s audit of Orange County Government, which reviews financial practices and compliance.
These audits help identify areas for improvement and safeguard public resources. Members will learn about findings that may affect county services or policies.
Property Fraud Alert Sign Up Process
Property fraud is a growing concern for homeowners and residents. Phil Diamond will explain how to sign up for property fraud alerts, a free service designed to notify residents of suspicious activity related to their property records.
Why Sign Up Matters
Early warnings can prevent unauthorized property transfers or liens.
Alerts help residents act quickly to protect their assets.
The process is simple and accessible to all Orange County property owners.
This service is a practical tool for anyone who wants to stay informed and secure their property rights.
This January meeting offers a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Orange County Comptroller about financial updates and community protections. Staying informed about TDT funds, audit results, and property fraud alerts empowers residents to engage with county matters confidently.
